About Los Palacios Gardening Group
The Los Palacios Gardening and Community Group is a legally registered, volunteer-led organisation dedicated to improving and maintaining Sector A, also known as Los Palacios, of the Camposol urbanisation. In January 2022 it formed a Social Committee to run social events for anyone, not just the gardening volunteers, to come along to.
Volunteers regularly sweep streets, clear weeds and clean communal areas. The group plants and maintains local gardens, trims overhanging trees and beautifies public roundabouts and parks. Weekly maintenance meetings are every Monday morning from 9:00am, directly on Sector A, with the exact meeting point varying week to week.
They also run a weekly community library for residents every Thursday and Friday from 10:00am to 12:30pm. All members give their time freely and new residents and volunteers are always welcome, for as little as an hour a week. The group relies entirely on sponsorship from local businesses and donations from residents, which can be dropped into the collection buckets at the Friday library sessions.
