Byron Christopher Greenaway (he was born a Clegg, not a Greenaway) was born in Swindon, Wiltshire in March 1964. The number one hit in the UK charts when he was born was Cilla Black, with "Anyone Who Has a Heart".
Byron lived in the Swindon Town area from birth until he was around 16, but in that time he lived in no fewer than 8 different properties. He has one sister, Sharon; his mother is Sylvia and his two fathers are Don and Colin. He was educated at both The Pinehurst School and The Ridgeway in Wroughton.
Byron managed to stay under the radar at school from an academic point of view and left at 16. For that first year he worked as a labourer on a building site, and says, "now that was a proper education for a young man!"

He then entered the print industry at the age of 17, serving a 3-year apprenticeship, and was made Junior Manager 6 years later. At the age of 23 he moved to one of the region's top companies as a department manager, and in 1994 he set up his own business, which ran very successfully until he sold it in 2014. Byron was very hands on, running the entire workforce of 40 plus employees and doing everything and anything to keep it all flowing.
In 1981, Byron met his lovely wife Donna in a music club, and they married in 1989. They went on to have 2 beautiful children, Jazmin and Vincent, and 2 wonderful grandchildren, twins Orla and Maeve.
Byron and Donna have enjoyed a multitude of pets over the years, including birds, fish and many furry friends, among them Winston, a great character known and loved by many here in Camposol.
Byron adored exercising and being in the gym, and played squash until 2011, when he had some medical hurdles to jump that resulted in a stoma, which was later reversed.
Byron bought his first saxophone at the age of 17, as some of his friends had put a band together and it was the only instrument they did not have. He took weekly lessons, learnt to read music, and played in multiple punk, rockabilly and jive bands. He was also second alto in the Midwest Big Band, playing the likes of Glenn Miller and Stan Kenton.
After only one TV appearance, as vocalist, sax player and songwriter, his band Lisbon won The Wiltshire Band of the Year competition and went on to the UK finals, where they came second. They played on ITV, and shared a dinner at the studio with the cast of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, goofing around in the blockbuster studio.
So why Spain? Byron and Donna were looking at buying a place a little further down the coast from Camposol when his sister and her husband Paul bought a "pile of rocks" in Camposol in the year 2000. They invited Byron and Donna to property-share with them, the built shell was acquired in 2003, and together their families spent many happy years in and around Camposol. In 2015, Byron and Donna took over the property, where they still live today.
What would Byron like from the future? Health, good friends, more smiles, more music, and many more years with their gorgeous dog Winston.
