About Friends of Mazarrón Animals
Friends of Mazarrón Animals (FMA) is a non-profit association run entirely by volunteers, set up to address unwanted and abandoned animals in the Mazarrón area. It has become a staple of local life, hosting events like the spring fair at Camposol golf club to fund its work.
FMA does not have its own kennels; instead it works through a network of volunteers and foster homes. Animals found abandoned or in poor health, often dehydrated or with infections, are taken in and given veterinary care. The association believes all animals deserve kindness and a life without pain, and does not discriminate on breed, health or age.
Because they receive no government funding, they rely on donations, GoFundMe appeals and local events to cover high medical and rehoming costs. The primary goal is to find forever homes, and many animals are rehomed abroad through partnerships with other international animal charities. FMA also provides a platform for the community to share information about lost pets and successful adoptions.
