About MABS
MABS Camposol provides practical support to anyone of any nationality in the Costa Cálida and Murcia region who has been affected by cancer, on the promise of care, comfort and counsel.
MABS was founded in 1999 by five women with breast cancer who realised there was little support during and after treatment. As the need grew it expanded south to the Costa Cálida, establishing the Mazarrón branch that serves Camposol. It became a registered Foundation in 2017, and in April 2018 the MABS Respite Home and Information Centre opened on Camposol.
Services include driving patients to and from hospital appointments, providing translators for medical appointments, lending mobility and medical equipment such as wheelchairs and hospital beds, and offering companionship in a patient's own language. The respite home offers a comfortable environment for those under palliative care and support for their families.
MABS receives no official government funding and relies entirely on fundraising, through the MABS Charity Shop in Totana, the Camposol information centre, and events like the annual Race for Life each October.
