Teresa’s Travels: Camposol Free Community Sports

Teresa’s Travels

Giving the Camposol Free Community Sports classes a go, from Body Tone with Cat to Legs, Bums and Tums on the football pitch.

As many of you will know, I love to get out and about sampling customers’ goods and services where I can, but I also like to try new community events and programmes too, so I put some time aside to get to a few of the CFCS classes. This volunteer group has grown from strength to strength and has an impressive selection of classes and events. There truly is something for everyone.

As a Camposol resident for now almost 23 years, it never ceases to amaze me just how much is going on, on our urbanisation every single day.

Body Tone with Cat

Body Tone with Cat, every Tuesday 2pm at the Community Centre, Sector B

I managed to get to a couple of the Body Tone classes, which are held at the Social Centre on Sector B at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The class is run by the lovely Cat, who many of you will know as she has been a fitness and dance instructor here on Camposol for years. This class is immediately followed by her Pilates class, which I have every intention of trying too, just as soon as I can find the time.

The Body Tone class is excellent, and for people of all levels. Just take a mat, some hand weights, a drink, and a few euros for a donation. CFCS do not charge for their classes, but gratefully accept donations.

Legs, Bums and Tums with Michaela

Legs, Bums and Tums with Michaela Bennett, Monday 10am, Football Pitch, Sector D

This Monday, I finally made it to the Legs, Bums and Tums class, which I have been promising myself for weeks. It is at 10am on the football pitch down on Sector D, run by the lovely Michaela Bennett. The class is very well structured and, again, you can do whatever you are capable of with regard to weights and overall movements.

The class was well attended, and there is something rather surreal about lying on a mat looking up at the cloud formations. I will definitely be back to try some of the other classes on offer when I get the chance. Maybe even the Martial Arts!

CFCS has a huge timetable of daily, weekly and monthly events. For a full list you can visit their website, cfcs.es, or take a look at their profile page here on the Hub.
