Happy 8th birthday to the Campo Bus

The Campo Bus is celebrating its eighth birthday, and what a journey it has been for one of Camposol’s best loved community services.

The Campo Bus began eight years ago as a real labour of love, set up by a local resident together with their Dad. In those early days no one was quite sure whether people would join, and they checked the group every single day as the number of members slowly, then steadily, began to climb. It was the start of something special, and a sign of just how much that early persistence and hard work were beginning to make a difference to Camposol.

David Wells soon came on board with his expertise, and along with a fantastic team of volunteers he has kept the service running and growing ever since. Today the Campo Bus is part of daily life here, helping residents get to appointments, shops and the coast, and keeping people connected and independent.

To everyone who has given their time and support over the past eight years, a huge thank you. As one of the founders put it, “Dad would be so proud.” Here is to the Campo Bus, and to many more years serving the community.
