All is well in the Rainbow household. The animals and plants are all surviving, although we have still had no significant rain and a weekly soaking is still keeping the water bills high! The charity we sponsor, Friends of Mazarrón Animals, has lots of events coming up. Find their Facebook page and book one of the events. While you are there, find a dog you like in the adoption album and give them a share. You may just find a dog a home.
We still get asked to go and fix someone’s satellite dish, which for 24/7 all channel TV is just not possible anymore. Going through autumn and into the winter, the UK satellite signals get weaker and channels start to drop away. There really is no magic trick. Reliable satellite signals for UK TV are simply not available.
As much as some TV viewers resist going the internet route, it is the only reliable way to view UK TV now. Many had bad experiences in the early days of IPTV, with both the TV systems and the internet supply really not up to live TV, but things in this technical world have moved on enormously. Internet supply is generally hugely improved with the likes of fibre and Starlink, and the TV systems have moved on technically beyond anything like the originals.
If you had bad experiences, or have never tried internet TV, ask us at Rainbow to give you a free, no obligation demonstration and a loan of a box for a week, so that you can see what 2026 TV is all about. If your internet is not so good, we can advise on improving it. You do not need a computer to watch all the English TV channels (and more), and you do not need to be a technical geek, as the systems are as easy to use as any TV digibox you may be used to.
You don’t have to remember to record anything either. We record everything and you watch it when you want to. Like a film? We have 5000 films in the library!
It does cost a little in a subscription fee, but you get an awful lot for your money. People say that Freesat and Freeview should be free, but even in the UK it costs you a TV licence, and although it is called a licence, it is really a subscription to view.
We at Rainbow can usually help all nationalities get their own language TV. Our own language skills are fairly limited, but WhatsApp a message to us and Google Translate can help us chat to each other!
That’s it for November, more TV information in December 2026, when we will be able to say the C word, and take a look at the season’s TV listings!
